Knock Sensor not working

Default Knock Sensor not working

I have the MegaSquirtPNP G2 MM9900 for my 2000 N/A. I cannot for the life of me get the knock sensor working/tell if it's working. So far this is what I've done:

1. Tapping on the sensor with a 10mm wrench.
2. Hitting the block with a breaker bar
3. Bought and installed a brand new OEM sensor.
4. Double-checked all settings in Tunerstudio (Suppoed to be AC7 input)
5. Tried all settings in Tunerstudio (low/high input, knock amount, low RPM to start at, high RPM to end at)
6. Noise filtering on/off.

In tuner studio under the live monitoring, there's inputs for Knock, AC7 input and knock never moves (0). AC7 is always 686 value. Never moves never changes.

Anyone got any ideas? Any verification of the settings?

Do you see any knock counts at idle?
If that's the case, you may have interference between the knock input and IAC circuits.

No, no knock counts at all. Tonight I am going through all the fuses to make sure it's not something like that (grasping at straws now).

In that case, I would unplug the knock sensor and check continuity between the plug and the corresponding terminal/wires in the ECU.

All fuses are good. I do notice in Tuner Studio that it's actually 1024 value when monitoring. I disconnected the sensor and it stayed at 1024. It's supposed to be low input on knock. I guess the next step is to take out the ecu and take it apart (it is a PNP2 so I'd hope it was wired correctly).

This thread is four years old... if you are having a similar issue AND YOU CANNOT FIND A SOLUTION BY SEARCHING, then you need to make a new thread

The MSPNP2 has an on/off style knock system, it's not analog system like on the MS3s. Don't expect to see how much you've knocked, and generally don't rely on this system at all.

As recommended above, we are not relying on it and have not found a "solution" per se but we also tune pretty safe.
