Angry Launch Control w/ External Switch???

I've got a 1990 Miata with a 1.6 running the MSPNP2 v1.3. I wired Launch Control to an external switch exactly how DIYAutoTune's website instructed, but it won't turn on! I wired the "Launch" pin from the options port to my switch, sent the other side of the switch to ground, removed the Clutch Switch Jumper from inside the ECU, and set "Enable Launch when TPS Above" to 0. No luck. Is there something else i'm missing? I've been trying to figure this out for 2 weeks ): Help!

I don't know if the 1.6s are the same but for 94-95 NA8s you have to unplug the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission if you are using the top clutch switch to engage LC.

I'm not using either clutch switch to try to engage launch control, just an external rocker switch. I'm not interested in flat shift, I just want to flip my switch and engage launch control for some pops and bangs without depressing the clutch. I don't have any wires routed to either clutch switch, just to the external switch the way I described in the first post. "Launch" doesn't turn green in tuner studio when the switch is closed. ):

UPDATE:
I discovered that the 90-93 models don't have a Variable Throttle Position Sensor. On top of that, Tuner Studio isn't picking up any signal from my TPS at all, so I think it's shot. I found a Kia vTPS part number (0K01118911) with the same connector and shaft input. From what I've found, it should work with a minor wiring change on the harness' side of the connector, a spacer or bracket, and an added jumper inside the ECU. I'll have it in the car by Wednesday so we'll see. Hopefully Launch Control finally works once Tuner Studio detects throttle position . Does anyone know if this would even factor into Launch Control? Or am I just running into another dead end?

So I finally got the vTPS installed after waiting for the 3D Printed adapter to show up. Tuner Studio now sees my throttle position! Idle is significantly better, no more random spikes or high idle, and the throttle seems to be a bit more responsive. But Launch Control still doesn't work ): The "Launch via Clutch Switch" Jumper is removed, Launch Control's pin output is going to ground (engine block), & the toggle switch is perfectly fine. I still don't know what I'm doing wrong and I really don't want to use the clutch switch. If anyone has their Launch Control wired through a toggle switch please give me some insight!
