Default Mspnp9495 Fan Control Problem - ANOTHER

ITT: You bash me for being a noob.

So another fan control problem thread. I read through hustlers thread and links to other pages with similar problems.

My problem is : I have a stock cooling system (with the exception of Koyo rad) but no matter what temp I set for CLT output I can't get the fans to turn on.

Fans work they power up nicely when I connect the GND & TFA so I'm guessing it isn't the relay or the fan motors being bad. A/C fan turns on when I turn the A/C on but not the overheat fan even when the MS maxes out at 215 degrees.

To the best of my knowledge nothing in the cooling system was touched.

Heres a pic of the settings. These are the default settings

ps its a 94 with no AFM running purely off map (havent put in the AIT yet)

do you have continuity?
is the pin switching to GND when it should activate?
Can you jump the wire to GND and get the fans to come on? If this works, then it means MS is not sending the signal. If you jump the wire to gnd (short it) and the fans do NOT turn on, then you're most likely a virgin and need to replace the relay.

It could still be the relay. I don't have my car back yet so I haven't had time to work on it.

So what do I do if the MS isnt sending the signal?

you have clt temp higher than the fan threshold and the pin is not switching to GND? How are you testing for continuity?

If you've confirmed it with a volt meter (having 12 volts on the relay output pin when MegaTune shows it is on), give us an email and we can check the MSPNP over for you.

Measured temp with infrared gun. Pre and post thermostat. When MS displayed 200* the infrared would be at 199 or so. Extremely close.

I'll check it with a volt meter and get back to you guys.

If you don't check continuity at the computer on the correct pin, then you aren't isolating the problem. Switch the fan trigger temp to something below ambient so its on, then test for continuity with a GND point. If you have continuity here, then the computer is functioning properly. After that, check the fuse, then the relay (I don't know how), then check continuity with the wires because we know the fan motor works.
That's how your supposed to do it on the 9093.

get money
Isolate the problem

Today I ended up wiring the fans to run 24/7 because I didn't have the time nor the skill to figure out what the deal is. Plus I had to drive it 15 miles from my friends house to mine.

Tomorrow when I take it to this shop where they're making my I/C pipes and tuning, I'll have them take a look at the fan control problem.
