3 inch exhaust is the best thing ever :)))))

ok so today i had my first day off in a while and i had my 3" catback made by jason at enthuza just sitting in the garage and i decided to put it on and wow this thing makes the turbo feel totally different it fully spools at least 500 rpms faster and pulls alot harder through the mid power band but one thing is i put poly exhaust hangers and you can feel it rattle throughout the car anyone else have this experience

paul 01-13-2008 08:16 AM

why the hell is it rattling?

unrelated question, what size is your downpipe?

Harv 01-13-2008 10:47 AM

Sounds like either you missed connecting a hanger or the larger exhaust size is causing it to rub up against something. Either that or it isn't made as well as you would like.

kotomile 01-13-2008 11:16 AM

He put stiffer hangers on it, that's my guess why it's rattling.

Only fitment issue I had with my 3" Enthuza was the hanger by the axle was too short, had to get a longer one so it wouldn't rub the axle.

I have polyurethane exhaust hangers on mine and I don't have any rattling issues.

Get underneath the car and check for clearance issues and re-adjust the exhaust if you think it's hitting some part of the car.

i could have told you this !

+1 i would take it to a muffler shop n have them jack it up to see what's wrong, then when u notice it... tell them never mind n take it home, i'm an asshole like that lol

on another note.... any luck on the car brain?

mx03tb 01-13-2008 01:44 PM

hell yeah three inch is the best i have three inch turbo back..not car just straight pipe all the way to the muffler and some times it makes a rattling noise when i'm high rmp and just let go of the gas but i think it's the muffler or it hitting something slightly
but yeah three inch is tha shyte!!!!!

you have a 2.5in at most downpipe.... plus a T25 :vash:

turbobluemiata 01-14-2008 02:12 AM

yea im pretty sure its rubbing something but not to bad just havent had the chance to check and fix it i just had it made with a resonator no muffler and it sounds badass

turbobluemiata 01-14-2008 02:14 AM

the downpipe is just the greddy downpipe waiting for begi to finish theirs and here reviews from ppl that bought it cuz i cant find a turbotony etc.....

My, custom, exhaust would rattle if I parked it idling on a hill for a while, it would slip back just enough. Touch the tip with my toe to push it back and no more rattles. It's just tight getting 3" pipe past the rear sub frame brace.

Braineack 01-14-2008 08:51 AM

my enthuza 3" fix all the rattles of my borla dual 2.25" go figure.

Newbsauce 01-14-2008 09:22 AM

I had rattling on my 3" downpipe right on the tranny tunnel.... some heat and a pry bar can fix that. An exhaust shop can fix it for you right away.

idriveamiata 01-14-2008 12:45 PM

On your cat-delete, what size test pipe are you running?

dc2696 01-14-2008 01:46 PM

Not rattles on my 3'' tbe, tight around the lower control arm rear mount and through the rear cannon brace but no rattles ever.

turbobluemiata 01-14-2008 06:53 PM

2.5" cat delete and i looked today its rubbing in the diff area so i went and bought a longer hanger and it pulled it out of the way hopefully it doesnt move back lol

gwilo 01-14-2008 07:20 PM

My 3" dual Enthuzia rattles a little with poly bushings but I have not finished with the small adjustments yet.

The reason I chose the GT2560 turbo over the GT2554 is with the 3" exhaust i figured it would over come the 2560 short comings of slower spool-up. Does the reasoning sound logical?

Braineack 01-14-2008 07:22 PM

sounds right. im sure it spools close enough.
