Most 2560 dynos that I have seen above 275whp put down a bit less then 250ft/lbs of torque, along with some empathy is why I think those motors have no gone boom yet. I also want to say that Turbotim was the man who made most of the manifolds that had 2560's get in that power range.

Aaaaand we've devolved to the same damn question every damn noob asks every damn time.

Can we put a banner up or something?

"STOCK INTERNALS GO BOOM RIGHT AROUND 250LB-FT. LET IT BE KNOWN THIS DAY."

i have a 2876r hks top mount cast, at 19 psi i had 300whp. stock motor, crappy 2.5 exhuast. spool was nothing like a 2560 i had before. but its a will spool hard at 4k to redline and it can get you to 400whp easy, after a few months of the stock motor running hard i guess motor said no more and the rod broke and flew out the block. next step for me is forged rods and 3 inch exhuast and bigger injectors. but that will have to wait till winter. im going to drive it again stock motor and keep it below 250tq. i wish i was as lucky as dvcn with a stock 96 motor running for years with a big turbo and still has rods in block . since you got a built motor why not get a turbo that will get you over 300whp with out running out of steam.

I was actually under the impression the HP number mattered more than the TQ, (and yes, I know they usually go relatively hand in hand, but still) but it makes more sense that it's tq..

thinking the HP matters is like sticking your jimmy in the rear of another man and claiming you don't own a miata.

We should sticky this thread. Seriously. It would probably work better than something titled "READ THIS ITS GOOD INFO MAX WTQ CAPACITY OF ENGINE/TRANS/ETC."

Also perhaps some real life numbers from people who are safely running without going "boom".

For example: GT2560R, FMIC, 12 PSI on stock internals, 230WHP*
2860, 18psi, forged rods, 6speed, 290WHP*

or whatever.

(* Please note, I pulled these numbers right out of my ass.)

Who do you propose does the work of compiling this information?

Clearly you don't have time, since you've been here 6 months and still asked the noob question.

If people want to know that information, they can read build threads.

There's so much more to the story than what you posted. For example, DVCN's would read like this:

"big turbo, china tin manifold with mods/bracing, 300+ whp on stock 220k mile internals for 6 years" ... there's more to the story. Luck included.
