ATTN: Stretched Bolts L337 Crew
For those dealing with stretched studs only: Do you have a cast iron manifold with a vertical flange?
If you don't have this issue, don't vote. |
what if i had stretched bolts, not studs. do i vote?
nevermind you said both. |
I have the regular BEGI manifold. I know a guy with a HKS manifold at 45*-ish that has no issues and he's faster than me. Don't know _his_ stud material, neither does he as it came pre-assembled.
|
As before, my tilted non-cast setup has no issues.
I propose a dowel pin solution for vertical people. Dowel pin between each stud. Then you have 4 dowels holding the main stress with turbo and manifold. Weight is all supported by them. Studs/bolts/nuts are just holding them together. It does the job holding the head and bottom end together.... (different materials and bolts i know... but still :P ) |

I don't have the problem...but can only offer an educated perspective on it. |
What does verticle mean? Top, bottom, or side mount clarification needed.
|
side mount. Example: BEGi cast or FM cast.
