trito, post a picture ?

brg, myfonti lives close to me, and we will try it on his greddy miata.
also, once i get the afm out, and whatever new intake in (was thinking of the behind the headlamp assembly/isolated air box concept), we can pass around the begi tube.

Ah, I got ya, I don't see it working without clocking the turbo so the hot pipe faces down. Then it may work if you use a smaller air filter. I'd rather clock the turbo outlet down, then run the afm directly to the turbo inlet.

I managed to make a new intake today out of some 2" mild steel mandrel bent pipe I had laying around. Much better than the Greddy pea-shooter and free (not to discount Bell's fine work but I already had the materials so..) and I'm running FCM (NB) mounts AND the "stock" Greddy charge pipe/plastic xover. Will take pics tomorrow if anyone's interested.

pictures would be great kotomile.

Maybe someone can fab up a intake pipe that locates the filter behind the drivers lid.

If the sizes on the AFM and the turbo are the same you might be able to achieve the same thing with either a 180* or 135* silicone bend.

For JDMAflac:

I was using this intake on my CRX before I got an AEM V2 for it:

so when I sold the rex I had this piping left over ( I made the intake from a JCwhitney 180* U-bend and some clamps) and dug it up the other night to see about making a new intake for the Miata from the old pieces. Turned out well I think.

I know, I know, the breather, but it's only temporary until I put a port in the piping like I did here:

It'd be pretty cramped, hope you have a narrow filter.

Just kind of an update after 250 miles with the big black tube.

As stated earlier, the transition to boost is improved. Also, the boost spike I've been experiencing with the new tube continues to occur. It's warm today, so ambient temperature was not a player.

I'm kind of new to this, but I have a mostly complete greddy setup and am missing the following parts: intake pipe U bend (the pipe you guys are talking about I'm assuming), and the compression pipe (charge pipe). Can somebody please guide me as to what exact part i can get to substitute for the missing greddy pieces?

Damn thread from the dead....

You can pick those two pieces up from time to time, im sure someone here has them lying around unused and will basically give them to you, or you could do something worthwile and get an intercooler setup to eliminate one, and megasquirt to delete the AFM thus eliminating the need for the other pipe as well...

when you have the requisite post count, start a thread in the WTB section. someone probably has both that they'll send you for little more than the cost of shipping. alternatively, you can look through vBgarage for pictures of what can be done easily with a few mandrel bends and couplers.
