Buying Tial goods!
where have some of you bought your Tial products!
i want to buy the Tial V-Band housing and the Tial MVS 38mm wastegate, and have been searching around online for them and dont want to over pay for them! right now ebay has both the turbine housing and MVS EWG, the housing is $399 and i think the EWG was around $250! i worry about buying them from ebay because of the fact that im worried i wont get the v-band flanges and what not that i need! amazon had the housing for about $360 but i didnt check on the WG! where are the good deals at people? |

Anyway, start scouring classifieds hoping to find gently used parts, or call/email dealers to see if you can get multi-item discounts. I googled around for weeks and didn't have any magic deals fall in my lap for this stuff. Good shit costs money. Attachment 198723 |

$360 and $250 are probably as good as you're going to get for the housing & WG respectively. That stuff does not come up used very often and even then it fetches near-new prices since it's current baller shit. And Tial certainly has minimum advertised prices for their dealers. I did get a bit of a discount through Tim because he is a dealer and is sculpting a bunch of stainless steel for me, though I think for accounting purposes the discount was applied to his services rather than the Tial parts themselves.

Lemme see what I can do. Remember that the WG comes with clamps and flanges, but the turbine housing does not.

The car more than likely will not be tracked, its more or less just my street toy for right now. ill look into getting them anyway though for the added measure of protection.... |
be sure to get the "cut down" bolts because they ones they sent me don't clear the fittings.
|
"cut down" bolts CHECK

Then why spend the extra several hundred dollars that a v-band setup costs? Has there ever been a stud failure with a T2 flanged mani on a street car? I can't think of one off the top of my head.
|
plus its just so sexy!
|
Tial's v-band housings are lighter, tolerant of higher temperature, corrode less, have better modularity (can go from GT25 to GT35 in the same flange "family") and perform better (IMO) than the Garrett bolted-flange housings of the same a/r.
|
yup! better flow, 30% weight reduction from what it says on the Tial site.

ATP listed a 38MM at like 22something dollars. Not bad. I got mine second hand, but NIB for 185 about 3 years ago. 220-230 new in 2010 dollars is a good deal.
