If I remember this correctly, the air filter has a slightly angled flange on it. This lets you rotate the turbo inlet pipe a bit and everything should line up and clear the hood. I think I can see it in the picture.
The shock tower brace on the yellow car was a one-off, and was mostly there for SEMA show appeal. Pay no attention to the backwards BOV on that car either - that's what happens when a metal fabricator puts a turbo on a car the night before a show... |

Hmm...my air filter is connected directly to the mass air meter just like the installation manual says.

what keith is trying to say is the your filter has a 10* angled flange on it, if flipped upside down it should point more flat when you rotate the piping back.
