So I would summarize to say that the bare pump is all that is really needed, but the kit is preferred?
Any good place to recommend for its purchase?

yes the kit is perfered.

you have to cut the brass nozzle off the fuel rail, so they provide the extra fuel hose so you can attach it to the rail.

plus a zip tie so you can hold to pump in place, a "sleeve" to dampen the sound, and a new "sock" filter.

what it's an extra $5?

Another solution os to do what I did. I used a spacer and a longer machine screw down at the bottom and it works like a charm and looks factory... Not that anyone would notice it or anything. I think it would work just as good to use a hose clamp.

I apologise if I've upset you.
What i was doing was just restating what was said to me, in different words, just to check that I had the correct understanding. The beauty of the forum is that folks can choose to reply or not. I will make sure that I prevent any such misunderstandings in future. Thanks for pointing out my oversight. Forums sure work different here than from home.

I've checked Lightning, but the kit is for 94-97 miatas. I assume this is the same for pre 94 cars?

Slap! Many apologies, I read through that page maybe 3 times and missed it still. It happens when ur fiance is breathing down your neck and nagging about you ignoring her and spending so much time on the car and blah blah blah!
