Get the torsen or the Rx-7 clutch type. Do a quick search its a huge topic. Are you running a MS or AFPR?

Yes you can upgrade it, all you need is the torsen diff. A rx7 clutch type would work too.

If you don't have MS .. I recommend it. The 305s and the AFPR are a bad combination. Scott and I learned the hard way.

hey, you disapeared last night, man. i was like, "where'd he go?"

in any case, car looks good, man. and yes, get on the megasquirt train, even if you need to lie cheat and steal to get it. best thing you'll do for yourself. :-)

+1 on megasquirt and torsen. sometimes you can be a cheap *** but a lot of the time you regret it when you need to do it a second time to get it right. so get a torsen before you blow your 1.6. I sold my 1.6 vsld setup for $250.

a friend of mine sell miata parts, so i am not in dire need of a torsen,
and if i blow my motor, hes got at least 11 more for me

buttttttttttt my vlsd is now making funny noises, kinda like when you step on old wood,
and it creaks? when i go slowly from a stop, it makes all kinds of funky noises, its on its way out
so im now saving for parts lol

yea, i was tired from work, and had a 15 hour shift ahead of me, so i went home to sleep

i want to run suspension like yours, next time we see each other, i need a ride in it
to see how it performs, is it stiff? or bouncy? or something else?

i might be going the emanage route, so under boost, its stock,
and in boost, ill have control,

i don't want to mess with idle controls or anything like that, this car is my primary mode of transportation at the moment, so it wouldn't be good if i woke up one morning, and since its new england, temp dropped 25 degrees over night and we got snow, and car wont start for some odd reason,
i need to know that when i turn the key, it will start, with no effort on my part

ive been on the fence for about a month now between emanage ultimate, and ms pnp
ill see how the summer goes, and ill deliberate, im also looking into buying a small pickup for the winter, if i do that, ill go the mspnp route

oh an newbsauce, please tell me what happend with the 305's and afpr

Yeah, sounds like your rearend is going out. Too bad. I babied my stocker for almost 3 years. Gave me plenty of time to source some reaaaaaaally cheap parts for my swap. When my rear-end finally did go though, it was spectacular!

I sold my 1.6 rear, axles, and driveshaft on ebay. I then used that money toward getting the torsen, 1.8 axles and driveshaft. I never even drove the car being turbo'd with the 1.6 rear. I put all that **** in at the same time.

I've been thinking about the MS as well, but my emanage has yet to let me down and makes plenty of power for me as is. I too would need my Envoy back on the road or another vehicle before I traded for the MS.

+1

I know it's almost sacrilage to speak against standalones, especially MS, but I'm not ready to trade in my off-boost performance/boost tuning issues for boost performance/off-boost tuning issues on my daily driver. Not that the 2 are mutually exclusive but I know it takes a bit of tuning to get a standalone to perform like the stock ECU off-boost. Maybe a little, maybe a lot. I'm not ready to tackle that learning curve to find out ATM.

If I were starting from scratch, I'd probably invest in the MS. So yup, when my Miata is no longer my daily driver, I'll make the switch.

hey Gay, bandaids arent a solution. Get MEgasquirt. Its the solution. so much adjustment. So easy to deal with. Almost everyone on here runs it. Everyone has it down or could help you in some way or another. You can run a real boost controller (ebc) make custom timing maps, spark maps, adjust your cold start settings, and more **** i dint know about........ JUST DOOO IT!!! its safer!
