Lol. Thanks guys. I guess I'm just too happy for some people. Couldn't agree with ya more sixshooter. But whatever. People get so butt hurt these days.........

I've emailed one of the guys from StageOne in hopes of a response. I mean, if I can just find out if the damn manifold is an hks or whatever, or is at least similar to one, then I can make it work....

The majority of the things I've heard about the guys from BRP/StageOne Tuning is that they were actually pretty helpful. So hopefully I'll be able to say that I had a good experience with them and not such a bad one like you did triple88a.

They are great guys. But, sometimes in the aftermarket performance department people are bound to get pissed off. There are so many factors there for error. Machine shops / foundries/ part suppliers.

I wouldn’t think anything of it.

You could just look under the hood and check how the turbo is bolted into the manifold and get a quick answer rather than waiting on them to respond. BPR did not produce to many of these kits. He was in the developmental stage of his S2000 supercharger kit when this hit the market. So, it didnt get to much exposure/marketing.

Good luck lady

Yeah, that's true. Good point.

I would normally have checked under the hood to see for sure but I'm in college in Missouri and my car is back home in Arkansas tucked safely away from the winter weather so that I can avoid getting a new soft top for as long as I can. Lol.

But judging from the pics that I have of my engine bay on my laptop, it looks like where it's bolted is kind of at like a 45* angle, and I remember it being really odd. I thought I had a pic of the crack in the mani along with other views of it on my iphone but apparently they got erased?
Here's a couple shitty iphone pics that may have a little better view of what I'm talking about:

Yes I know. However with the "view more images" on the page and the photos she has maybe, just maybe, you super smart turbo guys could identify the orientation and hence likely origin of the manifold.

Sorry, I'm just a lowly supercharger guy........hence I don't know anything.

Awesome. You just proved what I was fairly sure of in my last post. It does bolt at an angle, and not facing up/facing outwards as previously thought/mentioned. I was looking at the pics of that turbo on my iphone, so that's my fault. But that helped a HUGE amount!!! You. Are. Awesome.

So, it bolts at an odd angle. I haven't really seen any mani that bolts at an angle like that. So unless anyone else out there has, I'm going to guess that I'll need to get one fabbed up if I don't wanna change my setup or see if the guys from BRP can help me out.

Update:

Talked to a guy from BRP/StageOne and the manifold is different from all the other manifolds, as I probably suspected would be the case, so I will definitely be pursuing getting another manifold fabbed for me. Thanks for all the help again everyone

If you're interested in doing the mazdaspeed thing I'm here in central AR and I'm looking to sell a mani/turbo/o2 housing for cheap ($350) with only 10k miles.

I think FM's manifold/elbow/DP combo would be your best bet in this case.

You know, that's really not THAT bad of a price... I'll definitely think about that. The other pieces of my system besides the manifold could definitely stand an upgrade. Had the kit on the car since 02.

I am willing to bet that it is the same as an hks manifold. I did give him one to use with his kit. This route would be much cheaper. Now that I think about it i do not believe that the hks discharge flange is straight up. It is at an angle.

You call it though. Good luck...

I wonder if you can use a JGS kit to get pretty close to the myster manifold...

http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/index2.html

One of our MT members old setups using a HKS manifold (turbo orientation still unclear)

Another image of a HKS 1.8L manifold setup as well.

A HA! Upon further reading..the user with the green nb in the picture above confirmed that the following picture is the HKS 1.8L kit in this thread...

https://www.miataturbo.net/prefabbed-turbo-kits-3/hks-bolt-kit-2004-1-8-vvt-38323/

HKS kit...manifold looks to be top mount.

Huh, that JGS kit is really interesting. I haven't come across anything like that. Seems like I could definitely get something to work very closely to what I've got now... Sounds like it wouldn't be a bad idea. At all.

And since that HKS manifold is top mount, that's not gonna be what I'll need. What I've got it half way in between a top mount and a side mount. Really odd and something that I've never seen before. So I would say it's not a design based off of the HKS.

The real question is how committed are you to updating that prehistoric BRP kit and do you like porkchopsandwiches? The BEGi stuff is nice, but it seems fitment on that damn SGDP is a PITA..kinda like their customer service
With you being happy with yout GT2554 and being a fun daily driver, you really won't notice much difference. Now if you were running a GT2860 or larger and were looking to eek out ever last horse hoof of power, then I'd go that route. But for simplicity, cost and durability, I still say the FM "kit" would suit you best. Sure you could grab the JGS, have a machine shop assemble/weld/finish it, but if it's even a fraction of an inch off the BRP's turbo placement, you'll have a hell of a headache getting the exhaust to line up properly. For some that is OK, for others like me it's nice to just have everything bolt right up and go.

Well it's true isn't it........ Kidding of course.

I'm very committed to upgrading this kit. It's been on the car for about 7 years now, and I mean it's a pretty solid kit, but it's just old and with my want/need for more power, I think taking this opportunity to make some quality upgrades is a wise decision. Who knows, I may eventually decided to upgrade from a GT2554. I really can't say for sure, but would like to make it easier on myself in the long run.

I had looked all over FM's site (I thought) and hadn't run across their mani/dp/outlet package and after looking it over, it'll be hard pressed to beat the quality and customer service, but it's also a damn good deal. $750 for all three is really not that much at all, when the mani I'd be looking at getting fabbed would easily be in the $5-600 range. So I would definitely agree with you when you say that the FM kit would be the best solution. I figure I'll give 'em a call tomorrow and express my concerns and then go from there.

I'm very, very glad that you posted that link. Good lookin' out.
