it totally sounds like vacuum leak, but I had a mystery like this happen to my car and it turned out to be my tps connector had popped off.

prolly no help but, worth a look.

well the car will idle now, no problem there, but when i hit the gas it goes up to about 2000rpm and then gets cut back down, even with my foot on the gas.

Blow off valve?

penpen989 10-13-2006 05:29 PM

ill go tighten the bov all the way and try it

jayc72 10-13-2006 05:35 PM

Tigten it? Your best bet to eliminate it as a possible source of a vacuum leak is to seal it with duct tape.

Is it vented to atmosphere? If it is, cover the outlet while its running.

penpen989 10-13-2006 06:17 PM

ok ill try that right now, but heres a video i uploaded of the problem im having.

tried covering the bov opening with duct tape, still did nothing, at the same time i checked the pcv and covered that with tape and also the one on the other side, both arent leaking. ...... edit- this may sound dumb but do you think the soft cut rev limiter in the emanage might be on? how do i set it?

Mach929 10-13-2006 06:33 PM

just a guess check to see your vortech is not backwards
afm plugged in
timing not waaaay off
still there a lot of places vacuum can leak

maybe give us more specifics on your setup

heres how my afpr is hooked up, its the JR one. this is the view if you look straight down at the hardlines Attachment 217330

FMU is correct, assuming the "red" line is going to the OEM FPR.

Seems like something to do with the AFM or EMB baes on the video.

penpen989 10-13-2006 07:31 PM

do you think one of you could make me an 8psi map? maybe the one im using is bunk. heres my set up- 305cc green top injectors, 255lph hi pressure pump, **** IC, Tony DP.

Mach929 10-13-2006 10:33 PM
