I'm about to order the Begi Shanghai-S kit. Speak now or forever hold your peace

I've been waiting for close to a year, I was suppose to put in an order with BEGI last August, but finances fell through, I'm on my third close call at the moment. But this time I have a little over a grand stashed away waiting for the perfect deal and the wife has no access to it . The plan is to go for the BEGI Shanghai S.
Although a Greddy for less than 600 if complete is hard to pass up.
But as you said this was your time, have fun with it.

I know, to turbos anyway. I ran a supercharged notchback mustang for a little over a year and sold it. Never even fooled with the miata until now. I tossed around the idea of installing a 302 in it, but changed my mind. I'm ready to see how this turbo journey plays out

What about an upgraded clutch or rear end?

You dont need head studs or new HG for 200 +/- hp. Motors good for approx 250. Have people gone past that without opening up the block? Yes. The rear end situation depends on what year your car is. If you have a 90-93 then your differential has been known to fail under stock power So adding boost into the mix cant help your situation.
As for the clutch depending on the year of your car. the 1.8L clutch can withstand more TQ than the 1.6L Depending on the life of your clutch you may need a new one. Over around 160-170 you will need a better clutch. Right now @ 7PSI my greddy kit slips with the stock clutch.
