Default Innovative LC1 Setup

I spent some time searching for as answer to what sounds like a simple question. After you have done the Free Air Calibration, what AFR should be displayed on the gauge? I am showing 8.1 and it slowly creeps up, but when I start the engine it still sits at 8.1 and slowly increases to 9.0. This is the first startup after installing the Cartech system, so I don't know if the gauge is correct and I have something else wrong.

Mine shows like 19.6:1 after it warms up for about 30 seconds with the engine off.

Grounds grounds grounds. The lc-1 is very sensitive to ground problems. You may also put a volt meter on it and make sure you are getting steady voltage.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it does that stupid counting up thing when you have an issue. Did you install the LED? It will tell you which error you are having by flashing, then you count the flashes and check the manual. If you use the LM Programmer, you can set the gauge to show a certain number to indicate that you are having an error, I use this and it is very useful. Once the gauge shows the error number, I check the LED, count the blinks, and refer to the manual.

I installed the LED wrong, I put it in series instead of parallel, I am wonder is that could be causing the problem. I grounded the Blue and White from the LC1 and the ground wire from the gauge to the same place. I found a bolt under the dash on the lower left, right at the bottom of the dash. There was nothing on the bolt so I found the correct nut and installed the ground there. I soldered the ground wires together. Is that good enough?

Run the ground to the same location that the ECU is grounded. That should be either on the back or front of the engine head depending on the year of your car.

Thanks guys, I connected a ground directly to the stock engine ground and soldered all the connections and so far it's looking good.
