Loudest Bov Known!
what are the loudest bovs out there right now i have an ebay replica of a greddy rs one and its pretty quiet???
|
the REAL greddy rs is pretty loud, or the xs rfl(realfuckingloud), tial bov those are some good ones
|
Turbo XS RFL is loud. Although HKS is louder because of its higher pitch.
|
If you hook up both ports on a greddy r-type it is pretty damn loud (unhooking the 2nd port makes it quiet). My wife says you can hear my BOV way down the street before you can hear my 3' long exhaust that goes from DP to cherry bomb. You can hear it in this video:
|
The rfl is way louder than a ssqv at high boost pressures.
Also Rmcelwee, is there a specific vaccume line you should use to hook up the second port, i use the bottom port on the bov and hook it straight to the intake manifold, im assuming you hook the top one up somewhere closer to the turbine? |
my greddy type R isn't very loud... but that's at 9 psi.
the noise is turbulence. meaning restriction. the type R is more about flow than noise. |
Sard R2D2..... look it up anywhere, they'll all tell you it's mother effin loud.... looks ugly tho imo (and a lot of people claim it's louder than RFL/SSQ
|
Turbosmart Megasonic, even at low 8 psi it's loud as shit. The TurboXS RFL does not even compare to this when it comes down to niose and flow.
|
i think mines pretty loud.. oldschool Blitz Super Sound
|
My eBay all-metal bypass valve is decently loud.

But isn't supposed that the BPV be quieter than BOV? |

Ack. Thats number one of the two sounds I hate from a bov... the second is compressor surge. :crx: Which valve do you have? |
Loud bov's are the Devil!
|
Duck calls taped to a BOV are hella loud and obnoxious. Go for it.

at about :26 you can hear it while scott's got his head under the hood. I do have both ports hooked up. you can also hear it about :36 when it whistles as it gets close to atmospheric. |

My SSQ is quite compaired to the RFL i had on my SR20...The SSQ is higher pitched, but I think is sounds sweet
RFL would make people jump on the side of the road... |
i hated my ssq on starion
yo, i still have duck call to mount onto bov (but no turbo any more). ill give it away for free if anyone wants it. shipping is on you though. |
