i've started my car with just the downpipe no cat or muffler.... its ridiculous loud.... lol. so whos gunna run one of these babies on their miata lol

Nice. My car just had a side exit after a resonated midpipe when I got it. Pretty darn loud.

 

Why not just build a properly-muffled 3" exhaust all the way back? Then you will have all the power benefit of this dumb device without the annoyingly loud noise.

 

you think yours is loud? Try my friends 400+ hp camaro with long tube headers... THAT is loud

 

i agree.thats what i was trying to explain to my friend.but you might get a few ponies out of it .

one thing that would mess me up is driving my car muffled and being used to my rpm vs sound.then going to a unmuffled system when racing,after 3k a open dowpipe starts to sound the same to 7k.LOUD

 

the coolest thing about an electric cut out is opening and closing it. While opening it progressivly gets louder, then when you see a cop you close it. and hopefully by the time you pass him its shuts. its not instantious.
