Default So is this aluminum or stainless steel???

Guys, I really need to know whether these pipes are aluminum or stainless steel because im going to get an IAT sensor welded on to it. I have a greddy kit that has a starion intercooler with basically the piping every one has. I guess its the JIMMY B or something like that. its the red pipes.

Like y8 said, most stainless steels are non magnetic, so the magnet is out. Take a file or something to the edge of it. If it comes of very easily its Al, if its tough its def. Stainless. You might still try the magnet, as it could be mild since its painted.

Well do the magnet first, then file. Its only 300s that aren't magnetic

Tapping works as well. Aluminum sounds hollow, stainless rings. Hell the weight alone should tell you what it's made out of.

Try to weld on it with a mig... if its sticks steel if it doesnt aluminum.

Wouldn't the tubing be magnetic if stainless cause of the cold working?

Magnets don't stick to megan manifolds. They're supposed to be shitty stainless.

You could do wrinkle black, it'd come out looking OE.
