Default Shanghai-S Turbo System

I recently put a deposit for a Shanghai-S Turbo System, im now waiting for it to get delivered. I replaced fuel filter, plugs, wires, the car is up to date on all the maintenance. Is there anything else i need to change the care has 146k on it? I have new ACT clutch as well i'm waiting to see if the stock clutch will go before i replace i'm guessing will be soon. Does anyone run open wastegate dump?

You probably won't see it until mid august and then it will be missing pieces.

What kind of fuel management you got? Oh, and start running the good gas now.

Default open waste dump

I do, but it's loud and the fumes find their way to the cab. Check your compression and leak down while your waiting. Thats a lot of miles.

From pretty much EVERYTHING I have seen, you can at least multiply that very optimistic estimate by 3 or 4 times as much. Mid August is only 5-6 weeks away, I say more like September-ish, maybe October. At least prepare yourself for 8 weeks, just to not get your hopes up.

I'd suggest buying megasquirt or AEM and tune it on a stockish car before turbo. Probably one of the best things you can do.

It took them a little while, but the wait was worth it. They were more than helpful when I failed to mention i had a 99 block. They gave me new parts at no charge for my mistake. I would get a megasquirt if it is in your budget. When i ordered mine, i just got the megasquirt instead of the fpr, and it was only like 579 more. You might try to find a used ic kit or piece one together too while your waiting.

Honestly if the motor runs good, I wouldn't worry about the 146k miles on it.

Otoh if you want that motor to last very long, get MS.

The motor runs strong has good compression across the board, and consumes no oil. I think it should be fine, i have a ms1 for em, i only plan to run 8 psi for now haha. I was thinking of fabing a ebay i/c set up in the mean time....

Water pump and timing belt. Unless you're sure that was done already

I hope so, i'm still waiting for some parts (actuator and a bracket) and I ordered in early may. I was able to get everything else done, now i'm just waiting to slap on that actuator and make some hp. So for now, my baby sits......

You can still drive the car out of boost. It will operate in a normal manner, just no boost. I am sorry the actuator is not here. It was ordered the 1st of June. I am still waiting. Had I known that the actuator would be on back order this long, I would have ordered it sooner. However, I had no way of predicting this. Normally ATP stocks these actuators and it has never been a problem before. Again, I apologize for the delay. I have been harassing ATP daily for news. When I know something, I will be in touch.

The deposit for your system ran on 5/17/10. You system shipped on 6/14/10, wrong tubes for bypass valve not withstanding (which were shipped to you the following week). Explain to me where you ordered in early may and have been waiting forever and a day?

The OP orders his system the end of June and you suggest the middle of August. Based on your 4 week lead time? And non standard parts? Call me crazy, but I just don't see the connection here.

I've been running the shanghai s on my 92 for about a year now, and I highly recommend ditching the fmu for ms or any standalone ecu. Also, you won't need to change the clutch until you go above 5-6 psi.

Good luck

I don't know if a fuel filter is a part of that list. But if not, you might want to do it too.
