Default Sick of the greddy U intake pipe

Well as the title states, I'm sick of the way the greddy u pipe intake is. I've been thinking of a few ways to change, but none seem like they will work to well? Anyone have any specs or pics of your modified greddy intake.

I've my intake directly on the Turbo inlet, same as above.
I clocked the Turbo downwards and put in new piping, I don't have an intercooler (yet).
I'll dig up a pic in a few hours.

Clocking my Greddy made my intake U bend much more manageable. Even added the 1'' BOV to the pipe. Thought about making my own intake pipe but with keeping the huge MAF for now it simply works. Somehow I ended up with 2 intake U's and one is headed to thepipefather tomorrow.

And his is the only one that will not work for you. Notice, he has the pitcrew front, thus his pop-ups are gone and he has the room for the intake.

You turbo being clocked or not clocked has nothing to do with how you route your intake.

Having the intake coming right off the turbo inlet has done nothing but give me problems for the past 4 years. I'm currently making a different setup.

actually my intercooler pipes are in the way of most ways that I could route my intake

Then clock that bitch and be done with it....lol. I doubt you'll ever be able to stuff the afm and filter how minime's is. He's missing alot of headlight **** that you still have.

In my opinion, if your gonna do it a second time, do it right. Spend a little extra time and money and clock the turbo, simplify the IC pipes, and have more ways to route the intake. Or take out your headlight....either or....

Ok here it goes....

Having the filter so close to the hood, it rubbed the underneath of the hood and shredded a little of the filter off.....but I caught it in time before anything would have gone in the turbo. It also ended up rubbing on the radiator shroud.....same problem. I think the weight of the afm and filter, along with vibrations from the turbo helped with it over time sag and rub.

Also, someone mentioned to me before about hot air just going straight into the intake in that location. Run the car for 15 minutes and stick your hand right there, probably the WORST place for the intake.....ever.

With my AAC flush lights, I'm thinking I might be able to somehow move some things around to get my filter right behind the TSI. If that isn't the case, then I will wing it back toward the firewall like most do.

Doesnt having the AFM sideways like that mess with the flapper, and thus **** up your readings? Ive read that somewhere.. someone that knows chime in

Also, i highly recommend that you plumb your VTA bov back into the intake after the AFM. I guarantee that you will like your car more afterwards.

Just clock it. Get a new drain fitting and make a bracket for the WGA, then re-work your pipes. You'll thank yourself when it's done.

CJ - I kept burning holes in it, then flipping it to expose fresh surface. No matter though, as I've replaced it with this:
