How is this race related? Removing for a race car?

I cut mine down the the bare essentials, leaving in the blower controls, mirrors, and gauges. The sound system and what ever else I took out was roughly half the weight, although it wasn't large to begin with. This is on my '93.

Any idea how much weight you saved? Ounces or pounds? Wires are heavy but i'm just not sure how much is under there.

From those that have carefully stripped a harness for a Locost build, 24 lbs is not unreasonable.

it's part of a track build and pulling a harness is not something you would do on a road car?

on a 99 gauges are part of main the harness that's on the firewall, the NAs have the gauges as part of the dash harness

i don't have a blower and plan on getting some light weigh mirrors or non power.

the harness i pulled was latest 5lbs, know johnwags pulled ~25 by removing every wire he didn't need from all his harnesses.

My entire dash project, including cutting off the bottom half, saved me roughly 20-25lbs.

I can believe it. I have a trash bag sized container filled with unused wiring.
