I find Reverie's wind tunnel session on their Exige quite good among the automotive aftermarket: http://www.reverie.ltd.uk/Downloads/...st_Session.pdf

If we wanted to go Miata-specific, the Hancha group CFD on ride height and front air dam shaping is very interesting

Not to forget the "Post your DIY Aero pics" thread that's stickied in this very sub-forum, ahem.

It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside how much aero has been embraced and advanced in recent years, particularly in the miata community which once believed that a miata couldn't benefit from aero.

Fitting post as World Time Attack Challenge is underway right now.Currently watching live, the final sessions are underway over the next couple hours.

Just finished watching an interview with Andrew Brilliant about designing the aero for a few of the WTAC cars including Under Suzuki's S15. Interesting point was him saying how each car responds to similar aero mods very differently and its never a simple formula that can be brushed across multiple platforms.

That's a fitting last name for him. He worked on the back to back Redline Time attack Champion Matt Andrews turbo Miata. I asked matt a million questions about his aero when he ran his car with us at a Nasa event a few years ago. Some of the other TX Miata track crew were friends with Andrew as well and helped wrench at events in California.

With all of the aero threads about everything from brake and rad ducting to full-car aero packages, does anyone else think this forum should have an aero specific sub-forum? I understand why it is under the race section but these threads have covered much more than race-specific stuff

what do you guys think about this aero package? It's amazing how small this vehicle looks with the aero removed. Wings on wings on wings for days.

One fault is that the sidepod wings direct high pressure right at the bottom of the rear wing.. right where you don't want high pressure. Good luck passing egress in that thing! Also, LOL at open wheel :P

But all in all, for the rule set given, it dominated. FSAE aero is pretty simple, GET MORE DOWNFORCE. So, more power to them for finding the "loopholes" in the rules. This thing is stupid fast, but IMO violates the rule of intent.
