Default Cheapest/Best Company to order a Hard Dog bar going to Canada?

I am in the market for a M1 Hardcore Hardtop bar. Most of the sites vendors don't ship to Canada otherwise I would support them. Hard dog themselves don't ship up here either. Eunos Custom Auto in Canada wants 676 + tax and Shipping on top of that. Are there any other companies in Canada that have or can get these bars? Or any American companies that are great to deal with? I can get one on Go Miata for 464 + 125 to ship. Any Canucks that have gone down this road and want to chime in with their 2 cents would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I know people who ship them to a friend in the US just across the border then go down and install it and drive home. Shipping is expensive for that sort of thing even in the US though.

If you are in Ontario there are few services (ex. CBI USA) just over the border that will accept packages of any size for a small fee. Then drive down and pick it up. This is how roll bar group buys have been done in the past with local clubs. Otherwise the broker fees and what not will rape you.

You could get something made locally:

Dave?s Garage Roll Bars

CSC out in Newmark also makes a rollbar but it is very different than the Hard Dog.

ship everything USPS if at all possible to avoid Duties/Taxes.

I live about one hours drive from US border (Houlton) and ship everything to a company there. Most border towns have businesses that ONLY deal with holding shipments for Canadian Customers and they only charge a couple dollars per package. Worth every penny.

+1 for csc racing.
Miata Roll Bar takes the soft top or hard top and is designed for racing. It is manufactured by CSC RACING PRODUCTS INC.- MIATA ROLL BAR
plus they are a CASC sponsor.

The CSC affects seat movement though correct? Also what about head clearance? I do drive this thing on the street as well. I did run across their site but wasn't sure...

Well I'm 6'3" and to get my head low enough for hard top clearance I would not put the seat slider all the way back 1 or two clicks from back then lean the seat against the parcel tray and that's in a 92 stock seats with a foamectomy. And I have a hdhcdd.

I am in Alberta and had a Deuce roll bar from Bethania plus a set of new wheels and tires shipped to a border holding place in Montana, and some coilovers. I had family pick it up as they live close. Save hundreds of dollars even with the slight border holding fees. I went down in the spring to go ATV'ing with them in the mountains and picked up my goodies.

I couldn't bear to pay the Canadian vendors price and would rather drive 5 hours. Get a bunch of stuff and make it an even better deal. I had a set of 4 rims/tires/lugs/hubcentrics (all for the price of just the tires here in Canada) shipped from DiscountTireDirect to the border holding place and some coilivers. If I lived closer I'd buy my bread and milk and cross the border. Everything is cheaper.

Where are you located? I live in Ann Arbor, Mi now. You can ship it here to my house. Now that I moved state side, my house has become a drop center for my friends from back home shipping stuff.

FM will happily ship north of the border. If something can go USPS, we can do that too. I don't think a roll bar will, though. Too big.

FYI, clubs can save a fair bit on consolidated orders. Get an order for multiple roll bars or even a mix of parts all from the same vendor, and you'll find the shipping/brokerage costs go down. We've done it for a number of clubs.
