I'm more impressed by the white NB that still has a miata motor

Fastest turbo miata

The level of fabrication on that car is pretty high. Tubbed 9" ftw if you're drag racing. I know he launches on a trans brake but I don't see how the BP is spooling that big of a turbo that well. Don't see nitrous lines to help down low either. I was expecting diesel tractor sled pulling type spooling when I read 800hp BP.

yeah both of those cars dont count for this conversations purpose. The RB26 car is sick but thats more of a "whats the point" than the thought of drag racing a miata in the 1st place.

I love the white NB but the back halfed 4 link chassis is more extream than even I would go.

As i am planning on building a new car next year ( when ever i get some more parts sold to pay for a new chassis) I think i want to make drag racing the primary aspect for the car. All of my friends drag race and it would be nice to be able to race with them. And its much cheaper to go to the strip for a day, than to go drifting or to a road course for a day.

I'd love to see more people drag racing miatas. We all know you can go 12.0 in a relatively basic ~300hp street tire miata. I have little doubt you could touch 10's with a daily-driveable miata that's actually set up to drag race.

Our biggest problem is that nobody tries it, and thus; nobody knows exactly where the limits are, and no company has an incentive to offer reasonable solutions to those problems that we don't really know we have and there's no demand for. I feel like that's the main reason a foxbody, or even a civic, has a significant advantage over us.

Troy (miata2fast) pulled a 13.38 naturally aspirated and using 2 carburetors. That was right about when I first met him. He was adjusting the AFRs based solely on intuition, but we have since then discussed the benefits of tuning the carbs with a wideband and the possibility of eventually moving to fuel injection. He seems to like my Megasquirt/TunerStudio combo.

That white Miata is his neighbor.

Troy didn't mention it but he thought he was breaking axles because they weren't straight between the hub and the diff. The rear of the car was slightly elevated. Once he lowered the rear to straighten them out they stopped breaking.

If it won't pick the front wheels up, I'm not interested

I don't want to be a newbie and ask stupid questions, but will these fit for mounting up some slicks?

The tires are pretty tall at 24.5 which are probably going to require some fender work no matter what wheel you put them on. And the 5 inches of back spacing on an 8" wheel is a -25 offset, not +25, negative 25, which WILL require fender work unless you're running like a 20" tall tire.

24.5 should not require any work, your not gonna be slammed though. But they will work. -25 will not work. Just get some lenso's or spinwerks 13x8

That's certainly interesting. Wonder why he chose a NB and what batteries he's using.
