FM inconel studs
Has anyone had any success with the FM studs? Just bought a FM turbo kit used and trying to see whether I should get the m10 stuff and redrill or just get these seeing how the m8
I just noticed these too. Wish I had ordered some. Just got my Turbo back on after the rebuild and just reused the originals due to low funds. If anyone can vouch for the inconel studs it'd be great. I'd like to know to
FM, BEGI & Trackspeed all offer 10mm in inconel now, not sure on cut vs. rolled threads between them.
I fought those wimpy 8mm studs for 2 years before going to the 10mm inconels w/stage 8 lockers as soon as they were available (BEGI). Haven't touched them since install a year ago. I suspect the 8mm inconel would work for most folks but have no direct experience.

^werd. Some people would rather pay than search I suppose.
There is a HUGE thread on turbo fasteners. If you search on inconel studs you will surely find it.
Don't make the Miataturboland Border Agents beat you back to Lackasearchastan.

I'd redrill to M10 and get our kit, since we're the only company to sell a full kit (studs, locking hardware, and threadlocker for the studs) that's been proven to work. I might be biased though

Since switching to 10mm Inconel studs with Nordlocks my turbo has not fallen off even once in the last year and a half.
last track day my downpipe support brace came loose at the transmission however. Resulted in 3 of the 5 studs on the outlet V-band adapter broke off as well as the my support brace bolt to the block at the turbo outlet after just one session running like that.
Guess I need Inconel there too.

Some say that his toes are made from inconel, so they don't break off in other people's asses. And that rolled is the only way he rolls. All we know is, he's called the Hustler.
This is my favorite time of year, new episodes of TG and F1 races, all on Sunday.
On topic however, I'm a little pissed that my greddy manifold doesn't appear to be able to accept 10mm. I believe it would cut into the exhaust flow.

If anyone wants to give the Nissan ones a go...
14065-V5004 Studs
14039-W1500 Nuts
I was quoted $6/ea for the studs and $4/ea for the nuts. I used these on my old GReddy kit without any failures for a year or so. I drilled/tapped my manifold just fine Curly.

I am seriously interested in this. You have mentioned it in several threads now. So I found a contact number at BW. This got me in touch with a department manager. I got his email and he said if I sent him one he would get me a response of some sort. So we will wait and see what happens.
