Realized my harnesses expired in 2016 (SFI). They are still in perfect shape, but I'm getting new ones anyways.

Was just curious if most tech inspectors care about this if they are in good condition?

 

For W2W racing, they absolutely will care, and you will fail tech.

For anything else, it is not required that they be in date. Make sure they are in good condition and properly installed, regardless. It's far better to err on the side of caution.

 

As afm says, any race group that has halfway serious tech will reject them, but autocross should be fine, so should be a market for them with those guys. For my WTW racing, if I don't spend a little more for FIA belts, I need a new set every 2 years. (FIA are good for 5). Idea is that the sun degrades the nylon, even tho almost all our cars spend most of their life in the garage, in the shade.
