I don't have a clue what was in my tranny when I bought it but it had to be forced into 1rst and I couldn't shift into 3rd until the car had been driven several miles.

FWIW I put the Motorcraft unicorn jizz in my 6spd. I won't use anything else, ever.

I'll try one day on track with the amsoil and perhaps it will soak in but if it still sucks Ill try the "unicorn jizz"

The color of the oil doesn't really tell you much of anything.
However, RL sucks, AMSoil MTG is the way to go. Blackstone told me that two season of track time (~25-30 hours per season) didn't require a change and I should keep going. I had a slightly sticky synchro in 5th, the change seems to have fixed it. Savington and I sustain 300*f+ trans oil temps. Should I'll be fine using it or should I bring it back and get something else? |
Ok so should i swap out my new Redline for Motorcraft Unicorn Jizz or for Amsoil MTG?
What about diffs? I put Redline in that, too. |

Anyone have any experience with dog box transmissions and redline shock proof oils? I just put the trans back in, and was advised to run RL shock proof light.
My experiance is it provided no added durability for the transmission got real hot and shifted poorly hot or cold. Amsoil MTG seems to be better in every measurable way for mazda 5 or 6 speed. Bob |
at first the amsoil did not seem any better, after some street miles and a session on the track, the car seems to shift fine now. I guess the oil had to get hot and mesh with the gears or something. it may not be 100% perfect but so far it seems much better and no longer something I consider a problem
