Manhandling a Sparco Ergo Medium into a NB Miata?

Manhandling a Sparco Ergo Medium into a NB Miata?
Has anyone managed to shove the Sparco Ergo (medium) into a Miata? I've heard it's possible to do however the height and the width both look to be problematic with that seat.
I'm currently trying to make the medium Sparco Ergo fit using a PCI adjustable mount using the oem seat attachment points so I can swap between the stock seats and the Sparcos for track days.
Any ideas on how to make it fit? I don't mind removing or cutting the interior door panel but the height seems to be a problem too by hitting the window trim on the hardtop depending on the position I put the seat in. I think if I can get the mount position right though and far enough back I can avoid that. I've already "massaged" the trans tunnel so that it will let the mount line up w/ the OEM seat mounting holes as well.

I have one in my NA Miata. It took a LOT to get the seat in the car and it mounted completely to the floor (with a rake) and it still touches the door when closed.

I had the same problem.
I originally bought a Sparo Ergo with PCI mount, but the amount of work needed to get it to fit properly, quickly changed my mind. Instead, I went with the OMP HTE-R 400, it is still a halo with a very tight dimensions at the top of the seat allowing it to fit perfectly into the car. 100% plug and play allowing easy reversal back to stock, with minimal tunnel smashing required. And as an added bonus, it was also much more comfortable to the aforementioned Sparco.
I also have a NB, install pictures in my build thread.

Crap well that's not ideal. But it is what it is if it won't fit. I'll keep messing with it to see if I can make it work but if I can't I guess I'll just have to snag another seat. Stinks because I really wanted the option to leave the seat in on the street w/out the halo being there in case I got lazy and didn't want to swap seats for track days. That just may not happen I guess. Looks like the Cobra Evolution Pro standard width and the OMP HTE-R 400 are options for a halo seat though.
Thanks for all the input guys. Super helpful.
P.S. - Blackbird, I am loving the roll bar setup from you guys. Very cool setup!

A local guy has an Ergo for the same reason in his NB - he wanted to be able to take the halo off for street driving. He ended saying that it was downright miserable to fit the seat and that he never takes the halo off anyway. I was already sold on the OMP HTR-R just from sitting in it outside of a car, but now after sitting in his car with the Ergo and seeing what it took to fit I'm definitely sold on the OMP. His is a completely gutted track car and he still had to notch the door itself and it's not centered on the steering wheel.

See my build thread for what I had to do to get a Pro2000 to fit.

the car has a bolt in cage and the door bar is not in for the picture but it does fit and i use the tallest back position, seat is 2 piece.. the stock mounts have been removed and seat bolts directly to floor. the tunnel has been modified a bit just enough to square it up to the e-brake notch. i fit with the hard top on but is is a pain to fit the hans device. i was surprised the seat fit but i'm happy to have the halo design.
