They just quoted me $2,002.64 per year to cover the car.
The limited trailer and storage insurance was $500 per year but is coverage that us already handled by my homeowners with a rider and by the insurance I have on my trailer with an additional rider.
So I dunno if we should call this one "busted, plausible or confirmed."

Yep. driving it to work today.
I live dangerously on insurance, I've only ever carried liability on any car I've had for like the last 20 years. It would suck if it were stolen if it is wrecked though I just hope there are good parts left. probably saved enough on premiums in that time to pay replacement value out of pocket.
I had a very near disaster a few years back when the trailer it was on behind my truck broke free the trailer hit a guard rail post stopped instantly and flung the car off into the middle of a 6 lane freeway. surprisingly little damage done and no other cars were involved. Dented rocker panel scuffed front bumper and some scrapes on the underside was all that happened. Luck.

There is no way an insurance company is going to provide actual replacement value on a race car for $200 a year.
They might give you replacement value on the chassis for that....but there is zero chance of getting actual replacement value on a race car for that little money. Hell, you couldn't get it for that much per month.

So it basically covers you against theft while you're at work and the car is sad at home and in case of accident while it's being towed to the track? I guess that's worth the $200 for piece of mind in case you get t-boned or some bullshit driving to the event. Still hard to believe.
