Default NB8B / 15x9 / 225.45.15 - How low can you go?

Hi,

What is the lowest you can run a full weight (due to class regs) NB8B with a 15x9 wheel and 225/45/15 tyre?

Pinch measurements easiest to digest.

Track only.

Thanks.

I have no experience with this, but I'm guessing the answer you'll get is "depends".

As low as the track surface/kerbs will allow.

All the replies are fair calls.

So to be more specific...Pic of rubbing as it sits now after a day at mildly rough track where you have to ride the odd curb a little. Do the 'witness' marks look ok for a track car, or a worry?

At the previous race day, at the same ride height, on a billiard table smooth track with no curbs, it hardly touched anywhere.

Ride height currently at the pinch is about 4.5” Front and 4.8” rear

Shock travel doesn't dictate ride height. Rub marks are an indication of the former, not the latter. Ride height is dictated by how the car reacts to the largest bump on the track, and whether or not you can make it through that without bottoming harshly in that section (or if you can tolerate bottoming in that one spot in order to get the car low enough everywhere else).
