Oil surge on track
I like the fact i can pull as much g on throttle as i can on the brakes lol
Surge is definitely an issue and like you i have a baffle with doors in it. mine are rubber but same idea. I am leaning towards an accusump in an effort to fill in these dips. looking at my data log how well do you think it would do the job? what size unit do you think i need? Its not like the surge lasts a long time..

Also having the engine at high revs for a period of time sends oil all over the engine and a lot of it collects on top of the head under the valve cover thus not in the pan as it doesn’t drain back quickly enough. A 300+ hp miata motor will typically have Breather issues And the breather issues make the oil not draining back into the pan even worse. Honestly I think the -10 breather hole I drilled into the side of my block improved some symptoms as well.
But the line ends up traveling higher than the top of the head before going to the catch can so it should be ok. I also know at idle that you can still feel the pulses coming out of the valve cover port with that line. And that the hose to the side of the block sounds cool as **** if you hold it up to your ear, like a real lumpy v8. I think you just need to drill more holes in things Bob.
I went through my motor this winter 300+ whp and after 12 track days found no evidence of rod brg problems with ACL brgs, in fact since they were new the previous season I reused them and the mains, just installed a new trust brg. I think with synthetic oils it is far less of an issue. I tend to agree with Savington as far as it being a none issue. Depending on how you brake [% with engine verses brake pedal] the load on the rod bearings is probably greatest at off throttle as it is under a high compression load at very high rpm.
