Know of any 15x9 +36 steel wheels suitable for use on a track Miata? Serious question.
I understand diamond racing will make them, but they are super heavy.

I time out the Advanti Storm S1's after 8 tires based upon my history with them. I've since switched to the S2 as it looks like a stronger design for 4-lug hubs. Still monitoring those to determine when they need to be retired. Sometimes, I end up retiring wheels for bends before they time out.

As for steel wheels, I've begun running a vintage Formula Ford race car (a 1969 Lotus Type 61). The class requires steel wheels and there are shops that custom build them. I haven't purchased any yet, but I'll take a look at the PO's receipts to see who he bought from. Standby . . . . As you might expect, there is a definite weight penalty for steel wheels.

Yep. That's who built the set currently on the Lotus. Link:

Diamond : Diamond Custom Wheel

Fortunately, a 13x5.5 isn't "that" heavy even in steel. A 15x9 though . . . .

I seem to remember a discussion about steelies before. The problem seems to be in fitting them around a BBK (TSE 11.75", in my case).

None of those are made of steel. Diamond Racing is basically the only name in that game.

Are we really talking about steel 15x9s and 10s? Just throw an anchor in the car while you're at it haha

Tracking your car consumes things, wheels are one of those things. Do you run 600tw street tires to avoid wearing out tires? I'm gonna hang on the safe side, and say no

Gen2 6ULs are no less than like 7 years old at this point. Aluminum does not have infinite fatigue strength. Buy new wheels.

I have a set of black Gen 4s (c. 2015) that came with the car. I was using the silver Gen 2s because I preferred the colour, which, in retrospect, was not a wise choice. On the plus side, I did manage to get allofit out of the old ones. What's the old saying: The best-engineered race car will completely fall to pieces just over the finish line.
