Default Rear wings...

What rear wings are you guys rocking? I know 949 sells a couple but is there anything less expensive that is functional?

tse also sells the gtc200.

the thing about the wings trackspeed and 949 sell is they have been tested and proven to work on our cars.

the height of the wing is correct and so on.

there are other functional wings but ones that are as able for the intended purpose arent common.

remember you have to pay to play.

wouldnt you rather buy a wing that you know will work vs one that may not work.
for the chance to save $200 at a gamble you risk $400.

To get less expensive than the GTC-200 you will probably have to go to aluminum, which can be functional, but also will probably be 2D, which means it needs to be mounted as high (think near or above the roof line) and as far back as possible.

I'd just shop around for a used GTC-200... actually, that IS what I did

I have noticed full blown race cars with rear wings tend to have a duck tail or spoiler on the boot lid, I believe this helps retain the underflow to the wing and help reduce drag behind the car.

Is this something the mx5 race community has dabbled with when using the GTC wing?

Like the car above, I don't ever recall seeing any (but I may just not have noticed...)

Actually, running the ducktail spoiler has more to do with the normal aerodynamics on the car (without a wing) and less to do with underflow to the wing.
