For not even 100 dollars more I bought a used HDHCSD w/ harness bar.

Look around the classifieds.

Who cares what the diameter is, it mounts to the package shelf. Completely useless.

The good "package tray" mounted roll bars are actually mounted to the structural bits under the package tray panel, along with the seat belt towers. I'm very happy with my Hard Dog Ace. It's not JDM, y0 junk, though.

 

The BIN price is $332. It's shitty for $100 which makes it over 3x as shitty for that price. I got a used hard dog for under $350 once. At 2mm, you could crush it with channel locks.
