Roll Call: Global Time Attack SLB 2017
#162
As mentioned in the earlier post, we ran oit of coils. New but Mystery brand Toyota cops, plugs gapped down to .030, too small a wastegate actuator. WG was being blown open. We're planning an LS coil conversion. Should make around 340whp and spin to 8k. Note how our power dropped after 6k in the plot previously posted. Plenty of flow to keep climbing once we fix the other things.

I for one am hoping to see the 949 crew take a proper run at the unlimited RWD record next year. Sub 1:40 in a Miata would be mind bending, but at the same time doesn't seem so far out of reach for them after what's been proven at this event.

It would be pretty damn cool to see a miata that close to the record and completely insane if it broke the record. Just send iittttt.

No haters observed. Most folks seemed duly impressed. I was referring to other owners of fast Miatae that might argue ownership of the title we just claimed. Plenty of Miatas with equal or greater potential. Until that potential is realized though, we'll hold onto the title

Indisputable in my opinion. Anyone who claims otherwise need only take their car out to BW 13CW. That is essentially the yard stick for North American time attack. Lap times don't lie. The rest is just smoke.

Honestly, pretty tough to tell it was your first time there.
Minor, minor things:
Stay tighter on the exit of offramp. It doesn't seem like you're grip limited and might have been driving out to the exit. Tighter line, shorter path, yada yada.
Phil Hill and Sweeper looks pretty good to me.
That was a veteran Bus Stop too.

So many replies, missed this earlier somehow. Yeah watching more videos the inside line for offramp would be easy to adjust to. Thanks man, poscat awarded.

It was only a day or two later that the thought occurred to me, that we might actually have built and run the fastest Miata, like ever. I'd like to see Ryan, Moti's and maybe a few other builds mature, run with slicks and raise the overall bar. Let the world know Bullet was not anomalous but more a portent of greater things to come. SLB 2018 we aim for the overall record. There, I said it.
