Get what fits you comfortably from a decent brand at a decent price. Try it on for more than 5 min. Even if a store is not nearby, many places have exchange policies and many tracks have stores. It seems like such a simple principle but i've gone through lots of gear and had to try on tons of shoes, helmets etc before finding ones that would be all day comfortable. Personally I have omp sport shoes because they are wide and sfi rated, nice etc.

I am still confused as to why race helmets don't have shapes like arai motorcycle helmets do. My arai profile motorcycle helmet is by far my most comfortable helmet. I tried on something like 10 car helmets before settling on a bell gtx open wheel helmet because it has a longer, narrow profile and still got cheek pad inserts. It is not washable and the quality is poor compared to my cheaper motorcycle helmet. I see lots of people at the track with I'll fitting suits, gloves, shoes, helmets, etc. too often. The reason was usually a sale or because it was higher quality, etc. safety first, then fit, then price then people arguing over brand etc imo.

I love my Simpson Hi tops. One of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned as well. Affordable and took advantage of saferacers discount code.

I picked up a set pair of speed cats from PUMA. $50 shipped. They are having a big 4 day sale. A lot of good driving shoes for those with feet not in a size 9.5 or 10 like me.

I bought some nice Oakley racing shoes for like $70-$80 if I remember correctly at a sale a few years ago. Amazing difference over running shoes. I also have a pair of Pilotis but I don't use them that much. I just like the ankle support in the Oakleys better. Or get some pumas with the thin soles. Had some of those too in the past.

^^^^ I LOVE my Tigers too... but not as good for driving as the pumas or pilotis.

I have Pilotis that I used once and put them back on my shelf. The soles feel too thick for me, however I do like the round heel. My heels go numb from the Tigers.

I have always wondered it Vibrams would be allowed out on track or not. I think I might ask about it at my next event.

Just show up in them and do this stretch before you get in your car.

I wish I could stretch that well to actually be able to do that.
