What's the consensus on the GTC-200 Gurney flap. I've got one but have not put it on yet.

Turns out that was a conservative estimate..

For those who didn't hear, Mr. Tran (KingKongSF) went back to Buttonwillow with his Blue ND pictured on the previous page and set a 1:52.035 (!!)

That's less than one second off the fastest all-time Miata record for the track, and with over 100hp less than the record was set with.

In any case, it shows that driving with aero takes some adjustment. And is really fast.

Cheers, and great lap! Happy to get the second wing to you. Now go take the overall record.

Will a front splitter or aero package ever be developed to compliment this awesome wing?

Or are setups too varied to provide a single comprehensive product?

Front splitters are consumables. You want to roll your own there and make cheap spares.

A front splitter mount and template kit might be an interesting product. But by the time people are building splitters and air dams, they've crossed a boundary into heavy DIY fab I think.

This is what I want. I'll jigsaw and layup fiber on some birch all day, but I don't have the metal fabrication tooling (yet). A comprehensive, semi-DIY kit would be the cat's meow

Funny, i'll cut and weld all day, but suck with a jigsaw and anything paint/stick stuff related.

We all have our strengths and weaknesses

We've batted the idea around for probably a year now, forming an idea of how we'd do it if we did. I can't make any promises at this point but it's been on the drawing board for a while. There are indeed many variables between setups, but I think we have it figured out such that one kit could be applicable to at least the large majority of common needs and the end user could tailor it to their specific setup..

Very nice, I'll probably pickup one of these ballers when I put the EFR on and have even MORE rear end traction issues

Any idea what kind of MPG drop I could expect if I ran one of these with a low AoA? Probably not most folks concerns but this is my DD so I figured I'd find out.

I wouldn't leave a $1k wing on a car in a parking lot for very long.

Oh absolutely, I'm not talking parking in a mall. Just between work/garage/travel. I can see my car from my desk so I'm safe there. Think driving MN->CO and leaving it on.

Haven't done any testing in that department, sorry.

It's quite easy to remove/reinstall. Sean pulls his off the car between each event so he can run around on the street a bit more low-key. Nice benefit of the way it mounts is you have a clean appearance with it removed, not a bunch of holes drilled in the trunk skin or a foot left behind with nothing attached.

The details on this wing are killer (removability, trunk access, placement). Will be my first choice when I get to aero. Great job!
