Default Summit racing proportioning valve

My brother gave me a Summit Proportioning valve that he no longer uses on his FFR Cobra. It looks just like the Willwood one that all the Miata vendors sell and appears to have the same specs. Is there any reason why I shouldn't use the Summit valve on my miata (after I get the sport rear rotors in)? I can handle flaring lines or making new ones so I don't need the adapters.
