Three Brothers Motorsports NOT at NASA Nationals (SCCA Runoffs content inside)
It's that time of year again! Mid-September in Eastern Wisconsin means the SCCA Runoffs are happening.
I'm running two cars this year (not Miata content coming...), a 2006 Honda Civic Si in STL (Super Touring Lite) which is pretty comparable to a NASA PTD car and a 2007 Honda S2000 CR in the T3 class (Touring 3) which I think runs as a PTC car in NASA.
Unlike NASA, we have huge fields at the Runoffs. I'm qualified 5th out of 40+ cars in STL. The cars qualified ahead of me are all either former SCCA National Champs or Grand-AM series Champs.
In T3, the S2000 is a bit of an underdog, and I'm qualified 8th out of 22 cars. We've only had about 3 laps of qualifying in the T3 class all week because of heavy rains. Unfortunately my one fast lap I got held up by a Nissan 370Z in Canada Corner where there was a standing yellow. I would have been qualified 3rd if that wouldn't have happened, but OH WELL.
I don't think either of the cars I'm driving have enough to compete for an overall win but I'll be fighting my dearest to make it onto a podium.
The races will be broadcast live at SpeedcastTV. The T3 race is tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 22) at 8:45AM CST, and the STL race is at 10:45AM CST.
Also, never sign up to drive two cars at a championship event, it's a terrible idea.
I'll try to add some photos and videos to this thread when I get some time.
Cheers

Ryan - Rain is not in the forecast tomorrow morning however, it's supposed to be quite chilly at the start of the T3 race, something like 45 F. It's going to be very hard to get heat into the tires at those temps...
As far as the S2000 lap times, the 2nd place qualifier is also in an S2000 and he ran 2:32.9 which I think is about the fastest a T3 S2000 has ever run at Road America. He had a pretty significant tow for the entire lap, which he said gave him a big boost, at least half a second. I had a high 2:33 going in qualy before the slow car / standing yellow deal.

What time are the races at? If I'm around I'll try and watch. 40 minutes is plenty of time for you to move up several positions! Get it done
What are the specs on a T3 s2k? Power, weight? Tires? Aero? etc. I'm just curious, as I used to run TTC/TTB with my s2k in MW/GL.

The T3 S2k is a 2007 CR. Only power mods are a reflash, cat delete (same diameter tubing as stock cat) and cat back exhaust. So, the power is basically stock. Min weight in T3 is now 2850lbs with driver. Tires are 245 rear, 235 front BFG R1-S. Aero is stock CR parts. Adjustable H&R dampers with stock CR springs. The rules allow for up to 600lb springs, but I didn't have time to make that change, so I'm still on the stock springs, which were required last year. O.S. Giken rear diff. Stock brakes, stock transmission, engine is internally stock, etc. etc. etc.
