The car is getting more and more reliable every time it hits the track. Over the past I have brought basic **** to the track just in case. Along with my tool set I sorta have this list.

Extra:
front and rear pads
brake lines
brake fluid & pressure bleeder
oil (motor/trans/diff)
zip ties
spark plugs
foil tape
electrical tape
soldering iron
digital multimeter

Things i need to get/would like to bring to the track.
pyrometer
spare hub/wheel bearings
maybe even a spare diff or trans


Lets compile a list of things that we all take to the track "just in case" I think this could be really helpful for anyone looking to hit the track.

Tow vehicle

Seriously though, all fluids and a wrench to match every single bolt on the car (Surprisingly not that many). Glue for when the piece of **** falls apart, zip ties for when body panels fall off. 8-in-1 screwdriver. Allan wrench set.

All this fits into one small toolbox and will fix most any problems with the exception of parts actually breaking, in which case you're not going home for a while anyways.

jack/jacks stands, sometimes ramps (more stable if yer yanking on stuff)
29 and 32mm sockets (axles)
5/8" Spark plug socket
torque wrench (up to 250lbft)
correct size wrenches for all the v-bands

8 mm wrench (bleeders)
tube for bleeding brakes
small pry bar (removing front hub dust cover), big pry bar and c-clamps (putting axles back into diff)

Everything above is great - I use a small cylinder of nitrogen with a regulator, SSoooo much easier than hauling an air compresor around, but it won't flow enough for airtools if you needed, like an impact wrench.

I've often found a need for a 2x4 (clears the splitter) to park the wheels against to keep the car from rolling on uneven pavements after a run since ya don't lock the ebrake and are still cooling the engine down.

Some chem dry could also keep you from getting an expensive clean-up bill too!
And always, blinker fluid.

thats a great idea. i have a tiny bottle of C25 i haven't used in long time, maybe i can swap it for a nitrogen.

add to spares list: brake light bulbs. i saw somebody meatballed for that.

I use a nitrogen set up as well, but I use a big regulator and have never had a problem with flow it runs my impact guns no problem, I even used it once to port heads for some one at their house.its much nicer than having to bring a compressor and stores easy in a corner of the trailer

no one brings extra wheels and tires? (you never know if/when you might do a brake-check and flat-spot tires and I never want to be without backups especially if it is a really long drive to the track for the weekend!)

I usually bring a moderate bag of random tools, various rolls of tape, zipties of different sizes and colours, some lint-free shoprags and a bag of kitty litter. I don't usually run for more than 4 hours, so any problem not fixable in 15 minutes means packing up and limping it home anyway.

Then again, I haven't tracked my own car in over a year so I wouldn't really remember anywayz

Also to add: Windex/glass cleaner - nothing irritates more than bug guts right in your line of sight - other than jock itch on a hot sweaty day, which calls for Boudreaux's butt paste!
