wtb resbond and fire sleeve
I'm going to pull the turbo on my car to do the inconel studs and a bunch of other things. I would like to heat sleeve the coolant lines. I have a FM heat shield to go on but I'm not even sure that it covers the area around the coolant lines.
so what size sleeve should I buy for the coolant lines behind the turbo? also thinking about doing something for the turbo oil line, not sure what I have yet, perhaps I should make a stainless an line if i have rubber. the car came with a FM turbo kit but it is at least 5 years old. does anyone sell a small bottle of the resbond thread lock, would rather not buy a big bottle if I only need a few drops. |
I know a while ago there was one guy who bought the larger bottle and sold the rest on here in small bottles. just an idea.

Our stud kit comes with a small bottle of Resbond.
I didnt know about you guys when I bought the stud kit. would you be able to sell me just the resbond stuff.
I think Bat Inc has the fire-sleeve listed by hose size.
We don't sell the Resbond separately, no.
Mcmaster-carr sells some high temp threadlocker. It doesn't say Resbond, but it does say it's good to 2100F.
http://www.mcmaster.com/#threadlockers/=godkza Click on "extreme temperature" I just ordered some to go with a FM inconel kit, so not sure how either will perform yet. |
I bought my resbond here:http://www.034motorsport.com/fluids-...ted-p-609.html
worst thread title ever.
sorry you don't approve. what would be a better title?
I bought a big bottle of Resbond to assemble my hot stuff. I'd need to find a small bottle to put some in but I'm game to sell a bit. The label says it should be used within 6 months of opening or something similar and I popped it around new year's. Send me a PM if you are interested.
im pulling the turbo within the next couple days so yeah, I would be interested but it might not be worth the efort if you dont have extra bottles, who does, unless you are a scientist for something
I would be interested in a small bottle too. That makes 2 people now so it might be a good idea to source for small bottles. I sent you a PM mr_hyde
If you put some Resbond in a baby bottle with some fire-sleeve shavings and suck it, you'll get f@cked up!
multiple colors of fire sleeve at wirecare.com by the foot. black, red, white, and orange of course.
I'm actually ordering some fire sleeve tonight myself. Best price I could find was on eBay. Looks like a reputable seller and will meet my needs. Noice!

And what size would we need to protect the heater core lines back by the turbo? |
I'm at MRLS this weekend and then out of town for work all next week. When I get home the following weekend I'll have plenty of time to bottle some and figure out a fair price shipped. Postage and the bottles will be most of the cost.
Have fun out there Hyde! Hope your car runs great.

I just hope it doesn't blow up and if it does, that it waits until after lunch Sunday...
