Default Help my turbo not fall off

OK, so I've ran these studs on the road through much "spirited" driving, drag races, for 2 years. How long did they hold up on the track? About 5 laps. I managed to save 3 but one was lost, and now I have an exhaust leak, but also a problem to fix by April 27th for my next event.

ARTech mild steel top mount manifold (swaintech coated)
EFR6258 T25 flange
8mm studs

What we had used before were regular Grade 8 steel studs, and oval pinched nuts. Well, they fused together, so this is how they came out (sitting on valve cover is one recovered stud)

I have a few solutions in mind, but wanted to get some feedback or other ideas.

1. Use the ARTech way, which uses 2 Nissan T25 locking plates
2. Resbond
3. Tac-weld stud into manifold from underneath to keep it from backing out
4. Nord-lock washers
5. Use longer stud and sandwich the manifold and turbo flanges together from top AND bottom

The problem with the EFR T25 housing is it's so damn tight getting to one of the studs, that some of these options may not work. I don't care what manifold you have, but if you're running a T25 EFR, how are you attaching it to your manifold?

Thanks as always!

Inconel studs? How will that keep them from rotating out of the manifold? I could understand if i was snapping the studs, inconel helps, but does it expand and contract under heat differently or something?

I looked into the Stage 8 inconel kit, but with that housing on the EFR, I can't see a way to use those locks.

Buy these and be done with the problem. They were made specifically to work with EFR's.

I'll post the link later if I have time, or you can just search "stretching studs" or something, or maybe someone will be nice enough to post the link for you.

But seriously, this is an issue we've had since like 06 when people started to really push these cars on track. the two popular solutions are v-bands or Inconel studs w/ resbond and stg8 locks if you're so inclined.

and yes, people have fit those on there (check EO2K's thread, he's done both on same mani/turbo as you).

I was just about to paste that in Shuiend, great package. Do you know if that comes with the locking washers by chance? Doesn't mention or picture it

I'll have to see if they actually have them in stock.

It should come with everything you need. You can email info@trackspeedengineering.com to make sure. I know those are what Andrew sell to everyone to use with his TSE turbo setup. He should have the M8 ones in stock.

Sending e-mail now. It doesn't say out of stock, but also says pre-order for January 2016 delivery, so I just want to make sure.

Thank you much!

I know he had them back in January, I would assume that he bought plenty of extra to cover future purchases.

As of today, M8s are in stock and M10s are not. More M10s are due next month.

FYI, installation is a breeze on the studs. The resbond starts drying quick so don't spill it . I put a dab in the manifold threads and another on the stud to cut down on any mess.

Sometimes its easier to re-ask the question vs searching through a confusing 80 page thread with technical information I don't understand, unrelated banter, and pictures of ridiculous looking people.

Thanks for the help everyone, TSE EFR Stage 8 kit ordered.
