Deviate gets a K20A2
I thought you'd be at 260whp or more, especially with the dry sump etc. Anyway I bet it's a blast to drive. The torque the K20 will have will destroy any N/A BP engine on the track.

260? What am I missing? It's a k20a2. My buddy's girlfriend has a rsx type s with CAI, header, 3" exhaust, k pro, made 206/147. 260whp? I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just wondering where you guys are getting these estimated figures from on a k20a2. I have a k20z1 and plan on running a similar exhaust with different intake/ 70mm throttle body, and I estimate 230whp. Am I not being realistic?

A fully developed K20 can be up in the low 300's with lots of head work etc. But we all know it depends on the dyno, the day, the tune and whether the target was for torque or power up in the revs.
Emilio, any vids of it on the dyno? I'd love to hear it roar!

If it was a k20a2 head on a k24 block with 12.5:1 compression, and it had 3" exhaust, intake, tune...I could see 260whp EASILY. But an internally stock k20...nope.
This motor has an Endyne ported head, Hytech cams, header and Hayward manifold all tuned more for flat torque curve than peak power. That is what I asked for and what I got. It'd odd driving it as the tach wraps around from 1000rpm @ 4 o clock and 9k @ 2 o clock. So cruising around town it has plenty of torque to squirt through traffic between 2-3k... where's the tach needle? It's buried at the bottom. Give it some stick and it blazes all the way up the face of the dial and.. just... keeps... going.. jeebus
The other things that catches you off guard is that it hits Vtec at around 4300 rpm. So just putting around town at small throttle openings it'll do the bruhhBRAAAAH thing when you don't expect it. Sorry, didn't mean to startle you sir.
Oh yeah, the intake is hella loud. Very angry sounding when it hits Vtec (yo)

Been some weirdness getting youtube videos to post inline on mt.net last few weeks.

Broke his collarbone riding his mountain bike two days prior to MRLS where he was to be one of our team drivers. Double bummer.

True story, the first time on the dyno I was standing near the engine listening for knock. When it hit Vtec the first time I jumped. You can see the camera shake a bit. It's that abrupt. When they are tuned properly, as this one was, you don't really feel it driving though. It sounds sorta like the exhaust or intake suddenly splitting open. I coached each of the drivers their first time in it "when it hits Vtec you will think something just broke, but keep your foot in it".
