During the end of the great Mayan Calendar Event of 2012 a series of cosmic events occurred that forever changed my life. As though having been pulled by the gravity of time, a constellation of moles on my sagging **** cheeks fell into perfect alignment with the center of a black hole where all my car-dreams converge in a spiraling vortex down the drain into some other dimension where sh** works out. It was then that I purchased my first Miata and I found this site. As it turns out I was gently pocket raped by teen twinkle toes when I NAIVELY answered a Craigslist ad that I didn't realize was really a secret right-of-passage/initiation ritual for automotive wisdom seekers. 1990 Short nose w/ hard top and an FMII--no electronica al la MS3X. Non disclosed rod knock FTW. Miami Board of Tourism: You'll Never Miss Home So Much. Seriously. 1990 FMII as described
Less than 3 months go by and I bite the bullet on a 2000 70k long block, meet a local mechanic, and drop cash on a engine swap while he time rapes me for 2 years with my car in his shop and my engine floating in a dark void where even Buddhists fear to gaze. Miami Board of Tourism: We'll Eat Your Face Off Under A Palm Tree *****! Towards the end of those 2 years in purgatory I had been perusing my local Craigslist ads and found a 1997 Base Montego w/ 64k for under 3k. This is not what it looked like when I purchased--imagine everything through virginal eyes. It was stock.
1997 67K Montego described.
Yes, I bought it. Then I did this in this order:
Painted Stock Wheels gun metal (RAD!)
Wet Sanded, compounded, polished, buffed etc.
HDHCRB
Swapped gun metal stockers for 15x7 RPF1s
Reupholstered Seats with Foamectomy
New OEM sub frame (storage unit find cheap)
FM Stage 1 clutch & 10 lb fly
Poly Bushes everywhere & painted control arms
Tein Flex Z
Painted trans & Diff
2003 Sport Brakes with Booster and Master, SS lines and painted calipers
ARP Extended Studs & Hub-centric spacers
SS clutch lines w/ new Master/Slave
Cut out & Pop rivet in small areas of rusted floor pan
AEM Inline Wideband (other gauges not installed yet)
MSPNP2 (Currently major f-ing fail to no avail)
This past December I purchased another Miata--One that both words and pictures fail to glorify. It's a red 1990 full Autokonexion Fastback and Widebody unicorn w/ rectal rainbows and all. Anyway, greetings everyone and I could not have done it without everyone of you whom I have enjoyed reading and rereading over the years. The Mythological Beast

Reason: Forgot Cat :( & Tein(t)s
Damn, I love finding things I had no idea bout. Just when I thought I had my build finilaized in my head. $550 for a replacement top + the needed extra bits, is a pretty good deal. Now if they can make something like the fastback and tuckin99 flare style things...

Welcome to the forum. Any plans to run at Sebring or HMS anytime?
Thanks man. HMS has been calling me. I drive by the damn thing a few times a month and always imagine being Charlton Heston. What I imagine racing feels like.

It's a little bit like that, only with Miatas the horses are smaller.
