So I'm finally getting to put in the 6spd into my Eliminator. Ran into a problem. I installed a OEM BPR7 flywheel and went to insert the pilot bearing that came with the throwout bearing kit. Negative - bearing much to small. Ordered another OEM bearing this time and still to small. The oem bearing is 1.37x" OD... the flywheel is 1.44x" ID... anyone know wtf is going on?? My twin disc is 1.37x" and would fit the oem bearing just fine (but that saved for future track carnage car)....
Did you match the bearing up to the old one? The box is the correct part number, but it might have contained the wrong bearing.
ETA: Since this is the second bearing, where did you get the flywheel? Maybe it was bored out for a larger bearing?

I'm sure I can - I'm gonna take the flywheel tomorrow (with the new bearing) to a place that specializes in bearings - I'm sure they can find something that'll work. I just find it crazy weird. Only thing i can think of is that the previous owner milled out the ID of the wheel for a different bearing for whatever reason
This happened to me as well in my younger days. I took it to the shop that was rebuilding my clutch and he had a correctly sized one in my size. I don't know if there is some variation in flywheels no one talks about, or the car (I bought it with 80K on it) had already had a clutch done.
