Brand new Type R valve cover was a requirement, especially paired with the white car and the red Elise seats. I'd really like to bring this thing to MRLS, it will be running this week and it's pretty. But the logistics of getting three cars from Chicago to CA is the main hurdle.

While we haven't been doing turbo things with it yet, we've used it for a couple other big projects. We completed A/C kit development on this car over the winter. We have a 100% bolt-in A/C solution ready to hit the market. The production A/C lines are done and on the way to our warehouse now, and you'll be seeing this all for sale on the website really soon.
We also used this car to complete our E46 6-speed transmission package, which is also ready to go on sale this month.
Current state of the car:
To recap, the drivetrain is a K20Z1, paried with an E46 6-speed, ACT HD organic clutch, our new 6-speed flywheel (12.5 lbs) and a Getrag stage 2 rear end kit with a 3.42 (may switch to a 3.23 eventually). With 23" tall tires, the gearing is identical to an E46 M3, which will be perfect for a street car:
The next picture you see of this engine bay will have the GTX3076R bolted up. We just had a customer make 450whp on a stock k24a2 with this turbo at 13 psi. We went with the k20z1 instead since it's more ideal for boost in stock form. We'll run 20 psi or so on e85, so it should be scary fun.
The turbo, manifold, and downpipe are getting bolted up this week and we're fabbing the 3" exhaust this weekend. No more side projects, it's time to get this thing boosted and have fun.
Any recommendations for an intercooler that will fit this car and support 600whp? This is uncharted territory for us, so I want all the good advice I can get.

Maybe I missed this (and please do slap me if it was already covered)
NB Miata - Speed sensor pickup is in the gearbox
E46 6 Speed - Speed sensor pickup is done through the ABS sensors
How is the interface of VSS being done for a K Miata with a E46 6 speed?? It seems most Standalones can use either ABS/tone rings and convert that signal. However, how is it being accomplished in this case??

We are also picking up a wheel speed signal from a single ABS knuckle, ring, and wheel speed sensor paired with a Dakota digital converter box to make it all work. So it's easy for NBs, but we're working on a custom setup for NAs.

Just ordered a Precision 600 intercooler and piping. I plan on finishing up the shopping spree this week so we can get this car up and running ASAP. I'd like to have it done in a month.

Big progress update this week. All fabrication is complete. Manifold, downpipe, dump tube, wastegate, 3" exhaust, intercooler mounts, piping, and BOV are all in place and ready to go. We basically just need to install lines and get it tuned.
For those interested, here's our current turbo setup:
-Garrett GTX 3076R
-Precision 600hp intercooler
-2.5" hot side piping, 2.75" cold side
-Turbosmart 45mm wastegate
-Turbosmart BOV
-FIC 1650cc injectors
-Walbro 450lph pump
-Fuelab regulator and inline filter
-Hondata 4 bar MAP sensor
-Xenocron 4 port PWM boost solenoid kit
-Hondata Kpro4
Shooting for around 600whp (e85) on our 100% stock block k20z1 (05-06 RSX Type S engine). E46 ACT HD organic street clutch, ZF 6-speed trans, and Getrag stage 2 diff kit should hold up quite well at that power level.
We'll be adding a better radiator and an oil cooler once we get it tuned and put some street miles on it. While it's mainly designed to be a street car, we'd like to be able to take it on track here and there too. We definitely will be adding some heat shields too.
I'm really pleased with the way all of the intercooler piping came out, as well as the fit of the Precision 600 intercooler. Everything is nice and tidy in the engine bay:
I'll have another big update in a couple weeks.

IT'S ALIVE. We fired it up last night. Dyno tune next week. Still have to wire up a couple new gauges and add a catch can, but it runs. The amount of AN lines and fittings on this car is out of hand.
The plan is to take it to AMP on 8/2 and Miatas at the Gap the following two days. Mainly for some street driving and to show it off at the booth. We still want a better radiator and hood louvers before we do much on track with it.
