I have same laptop as Oscar too.

 

The side left of the touchpad gets pretty warm, the right side is a lot cooler. I must admit, vacuuming the cat hairs out of the vents helped a lot.

Amusingly, you're not the first person to make that observation. One of the guys in the lab refers to me as Neo because of the way I have the displays set up (and yes, all of the green terminal windows are constantly scrolling.)
