I thought the FM2 clutch already came with the "level 2" TOB?

I'm on an FM1 @ 300something/300something, no complaints.

Seriously, is there a difference? I ordered a new friction disk, pilot bearing and throw out bearing a couple months ago (still uninstalled) and when I ordered it I just mentioned the PP was "level 2".

It's still in the box so if someone needs I can measure and/or snap a pic and post it.

When I moved house I misplaced it and it was lost. Thankfully that was the only thing.

Post a pic if you can. Hate to put an AutoZone one in and it not be strong enough to take the extra clamping force and I have to pull everything again.

it's a good idea to get the upgraded tob. it's much more durable, I compared em side by side. and a giant pain in the butt if the vatozone fails (seen a ton of them fail, personally)

Vlad, is the level 1 bearing the same? I'm not putting my clutch in for a bit, so I can call and order it from FM.

Why wouldn't you just order one from FM if you didn't have one...?

Unless they started shipping the upgraded one recently, no. 1 comes with oem I believe

Don't forget to override the clutch switch when you install the level 2. Or you're gonna regret it after a bit...

I squat +300lbs for reps so a clutch pedal ain't ****.

Is actually a concern, but I didn't see it listed, so I'll have to call them and get one.

Does 949 sell upgraded ones or OEM?

I was considering upgrading to a FM2 until I read this. I am swapping a engine and 6 speed in a few months. Going to run the FM1 and see what happens. Shooting for the same power. Thanks.

I could squat 20 reps at 285 at 146 pounds, so I don't usually doubt such low strength claims.

a freeweight one legged 300pound front squat? Ok pics or that really didnt happen lol

**** me

20reps means you were an marathon runner right?

If I wasn't recovering from this horrible virus I'd show you a clip from my training, but I'll probably be set back a while. Haven't been in the gym since last week. And that has been mostly bench focused programming for myself rehabbing from a erector spinea strain from an error in my squat, have a bench goal of paused 235 for 3. Currently at ~215 if prepped and ~205lb for 3 anytime of the day. I'll be focusing on adding a lot of weight to all my lifts after I kill this illness though. Gaining weight up to ~200-210lbs.

Is it bad that I have more of an issue spending another $100 on misc gaskets and bearings than I do $1900 for xidas?

Don't cheap out on the small stuff. It makes your life more of a pain in the *** in the long run.

If you buy VMaxxes for half the price of the xidas, you'll still have good suspension that should be fine. If you buy a shitty gasket that gives up and your car is puking oil, you're going to be way more pissed off. Not saying xidas aren't worth it, but the pain in the *** scale should definitely tilt you away from cheaping out on gaskets. Look at the threads on the boundary oil pump. So many folks have leaks because the gaskets were changed from oem.

I loooove looooove loooooooove my ACT.

Hated every FM1 i've ever driven with a passion.

FM2s are nice though. I likes 'em. Pedal effort higher than my ACT though, which doesn't bother me. I like man pedals.

The ACT HDSS I drove were all a little less pedal feel then my FM2. They hold a ton less torque and are about the same price. So I don't generally go with ACT any more. I recently tried the SuperMiata organic clutch in a friends car and I think it feels amazing. I might be switching to those for all my non-built motor turbo builds.
