https://jagerracing.net/2017/11/06/2...attle-preview/

Street RWD:
"The Miata crowd just can’t stay away from Time Attack with 3 showing up in this class driven by Tim Schoeppner, Brian Goodwin, and Dan Howard."

Limited RWD:
"Next up we have a pair of Miata’s driven by Ryan Passey and Daniel Tran, Ryan has had some experience so I expect so see some good things come from him."
"one other interesting competitors are Sonny Watanasirisuk in his Ford Mustang, we know Sonny knows his way around a Miata so it will be interesting to see the level of prep the Mustang brings and what times he will be able to put down."

Unlimted RWD:
"Again we see a flood of Mazda Miata’s although it shouldn’t be too big of a shocker being they are the most tracked sports car ever. Now the interesting aspect is that in general many people have said the Miata is a terrible time attack car so it will be interesting to see if any of the four will be able to prove that wrong. We definitely see some heavy hitters when it comes to the chassis with Moti Almagor, Emillio Cervantes, Aaron Hiar, and Cuong Tran."

No pressure fellas.

Regardless, this year we have some great builds and fast drivers coming out to represent and there are multiple Miata entries in every single class. I love it.

I think you're right. If some serious lap times get posted people are going to notice. Plus there will be a lot of Miatas there that look the part if you know what I mean.

Since I can't really make the car any faster I've been focusing on making it look cool. Put on those new Garage Star side diffusers, wrapped the car satin white pearl and am redoing all the stickers predominately in matte black. It's going to look really clean, hopefully the photographers there take a liking. Getting killer on and off track photos instead of the cookie cutter Cali Photo garbage is one of the best parts of going to a GTA event.

I've seen that vinyl, that's a fantastic color. Should look superb.

Will any of this event be streamed? i feel like I've watched these cars get built and I'd love to see how they perform.

ND is on the ground and getting road tested at this point. We're running it in Street RWD, I expect no chance of a podium in that class but we'll be out for a PB and to get more track data as always.

Recent changes/additions:

APR GTC-300 wing
Splitter with 5" extension, chassis mounted
Singular Motorsports hood louvers
AVO Turbo
BIG Setrab oil cooler
DG Motorsports hardtop
Sparco Evo II seats
Sparco harnesses
Bright Blue Metallic (gloss) wrap

There are usually some live feeds on www.racecast.me

Also there is live timing, check on the Global Time Attack facebook page for more info.

Ran out of coils. Choked plug gap down to .030 to get rid of the misfire we had at .041 gap. Still hurt power on top. LS coils should let it hit 315whp or so.
Anyway, this should let it scoot along quite nicely.

It's sad, isn't it, that in this day and age we have to be concerned for the well being of a brand new transmission at a lower power/tq figure threshold than we do for a 100k mile 25 year old first generation Miata.

It wouldn't be Superlap without last minute change of plans and shuffling of the deck!

I may have overstated how close the ND was to being ready. It isn't going to make it. We're switching that entry to plan B; still entering in Street RWD but Sean will be driving his '92. This car donated its rear aero to 949's Taxi (running in the same class) and because we're scrambling still at the eleventh hour we probably wouldn't have time to swap aero around on this car anyways so it's going to be running in full street trim just the way Sean drives it to/from work.

The (very) over-simplified short list:
BP5A w/ Rotrex on E85, 240whp/190tq
XIDAs / RB hollow front / 5X 14mm rear
Stoptech 4 wheel kit (11" BBK front / Centric 1.8 size rear)
15x9s 225/40/15
Front GV lip + tire spats / Singular "max attack" "bronugget" 5 vent hood louvers / Rear BFW spoiler
Full interior, seats/harnesses, HD roll bar with custom door bars

Taxi and Bullet done and loaded, rolling out in the next hour or so. John is staying behind to finish the GT350. Well not nearly "finish" but alt least get the R package aero bits on. We didn't have time to get the G-Loc pads and new rotors, oil separators or R package springs on.
So our entire performance mods for the GT350 consists of a set of camber bolts and Sonny driving it. Bringing three spoons to a knife fight we are.

This is a good mod.

Would be great to have the Miata family all in approx. the same area. We are on the road at 6 PM so getting up there later tonight. If there's a big area and you have cones, cone it up!

We need a damn live feed of this! I'm more excited to see the results from this than any other sporting event.

I know you guys will be taking on-track video, but if you get pics or video of the other cars in the pits that would be awesome too! Very curious to see some of these monsters.

Team 949//SPM is on the road.

Only some reassembly to do on Bullet in the morning before tech.
Taxi is ready to roll off the trailer and go.
Shelby just needs a wheel/tire swap in the morning.

Taxi is through tech, waiting for the dew to dispurse and we can sticker it up.

Bullet is almost ready, front aero install nearly complete.

GT350 is a wheel swap away from Go.

Wish us many Flatouts!
