Recommended Rev Limiter
Ideas on what I should set the rev limiter at on my new engine. I want to bump it past 7K for sure but I'm honestly not sure how far I can go without running into issues or damaging something.
Details that matter:
EFR 6758 0.85 A/R IWG V-Band Inlet @ 15-20 PSI
Supertech 84mm 9.5:1 (using E85)
Wiseco Rings (.017", .020")
Eagle Rods
OE Crank
ARP Hardware and Cometic 84mm HG
ACL Bearings (.0022" main, .0025" rod clearance)
Boundary S2 72 psi
ATI Damper
Volvo 418737 Springs
OE lifters and retainers
OE cams
OE valves
Very mild porting (casting flash removed) new valve guides and OE stem seals
I think 7500 RPM is still pretty safe but I want to hear from the more experienced.

Do you have a Skunk2 Throttle Body? If you don't I wouldn't set the rev limit past 7200 RPM for fear of breaking the throttle rod and destroying stuff.
The higher you rev it the shorter the engines usable life

Also interesting read. Would I even benefit from the higher redline? I am using a 6758 which can definitely keep up but with the stock size valves I'm not sure I would be doing anything besides shortening the lifespan.
Based on that 7300 RPM seems pretty good. I suppose I'll see the power band once it's on the dyno and go from there.
But yeah if there's no reason to push the redline up then I won't, maybe 7100-7200 at the most so the motor lasts longer. Thanks for the input guys.
